Past rumors suggested that Intel may utilize a soldered IHS on their 8 core processors which would be advantageous to keep the processors running cooler than solderless plans  as well as unlock much better overclocking speeds as it is clearly stated STIM (Soldered Thermal Interface Material) offers a much needed advantage to the overclocking consumers.

Keeping this in mind, Intel can refrain from releasing the statement against overclocking K series processors to avoid heating issues. The latest chips are expected to reach frequencies as high as 5.5 GHz which is a great jump in performance considering it is already a consumer optimized product.
