Uncharted Drake's Fortune review
These are lovingly handled new version that bring out and preserve the beautiful art direction of the originals, and the upgrade to 60 frames per second equivalents even greater viscosity to all three Uncharted games' already excellent gameplay. I only wish The Nathan Drake Collection presented itself more like a celebration of Naughty Dog's great series rather than a simple bundle of three
admittedly brilliant games.

Combining the three original Uncharted games on one disc, with a frame-rate hike to 60fps and a native 1080p resolution, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection offers PS4 gamers the chance to relive the entire series so far.

As the game opens, treasure hunter Nathan Drake, accompanied by reporter Elena Fisher , recovers the coffin of his (then assumed) ancestor Sir Francis Drake , which he located from coordinates inscribed on a family heirloom: a ring Drake wears around his neck. The coffin contains Sir Francis Drake's diary, which gives the location of El Dorado. Pirates attack and destroy Drake's boat, but Drake's friend Victor Sullivan rescues the two. Gameplay in Uncharted is a combination of action-adventure gameplay elements and some 3D platforming with a third-person perspective . Platforming elements allow Nate to jump, swim, grab and move along ledges, climb and swing from ropes, and perform other acrobatic actions that allow players to make their way along the ruins in the various areas of the island that Drake explores.

However, perhaps the most enjoyable aspect of revisiting Drake's first voyage is experiencing a host of gameplay mechanics that were still very much in their infancy. Be that hints of cinematic flair during hand-to hand combat, swinging on a wall using a rope, or clambering up ancient ruins. It's all here and, although paling in comparison to versions in the later games, they serve as a fitting, and valuable, reminder of where it all came from.
